Bob Dash frequently opens his wonderful home to many guests. He also cherishes quiet in the morning hours. He asked me to build him chairs that he could have around his breakfast table that would give his guests the message that conversation, polite though it may be, should be reserved until well after morning coffee.

The chairs are a set of six, and the one pictured here was painted and is now used as a receiving chair in the garden.
